How Our Newsrooms Work

EYP newsrooms bring together young journalists at events and conferences across Europe. They produce professional-quality content — articles, podcasts, videos, photo essays — under real editorial conditions, with mentorship from experienced media professionals.
Our editorial model combines large-scale content production with structured training, mentorship and community-building. Young people are positioned not only as media consumers but as active contributors to Europe's information ecosystem. Every newsroom follows professional editorial standards and ethical reporting practices.
In 2025 alone, our editorial programmes produced 410+ articles, 260+ videos and 45 podcast episodes across 8 European languages — all created by young journalists working under professional editorial guidance.

Orange Magazine

Orange Magazine is EYP's flagship event-based online platform, aimed at young journalists from across Europe who want not only to access journalistic education but also to put their skills into practice. Our magazine keeps diversity at its core by inviting the collaboration of international journalists outside of Europe.
Young European journalists are immersed in a subject by attending a conference or event and producing content that is straightforward and cuts to the heart of the pressing issues of the day. The production process enables young journalists to meet professionals and experts in the field, and understand the challenges of covering global issues.
In 2025, Orange Magazine organised two editorial exchanges focused on solutions-oriented and environmental journalism — five-day editorial residencies in Bonn and Hamburg. More than 20 young journalists took part, each contributing at least one published piece. The programme fostered professional connections between youth journalists, mainstream media and sustainability-focused organisations.

EYP deploys editorial teams to conferences, summits and festivals across Europe. Our newsrooms produce real-time, professional-quality multimedia coverage — articles, videos, podcasts, social media — all created by trained young journalists under editorial mentorship. In 2025, EYP attended 15+ external conferences including the European Youth Event, Gen-E Festival, WEXFO and events at the European Parliament.
