Learning and Collaboration for Young Media Makers

The Forum of Member Organisations (FOMO) provides a platform for young media makers to build the key skills needed to succeed in today’s media landscape through participatory, practical, and collaborative learning experiences.

FOMO 2025: Constructive Dialogue

Looking back at 2025, the FOMO event in Berlin was a pivotal gathering for the future of European youth media. Held from May 29th to June 1st, it addressed the evolving challenges of the digital age with a focus on “Constructive Dialogue: Strengthening Youth Media Collaboration & Inclusive Storytelling Across Europe.”
This forum equipped participants with essential skills in fact-checking, narrative framing, and inclusive storytelling, empowering them to combat disinformation and foster meaningful conversations. By promoting collaboration and innovation, the event helped shape a more responsible and impactful youth media landscape, ensuring that young voices played a vital role in shaping the future of Europe.

FOMO 2024: Inclusion in media production

The 2024 FOMO event, held in Bratislava, Slovakia, from August 9th to 11th, focused on inclusion in media production. It explored how diverse perspectives enhanced storytelling and highlighted the importance of inclusive practices in media engagement.
Through study sessions, lectures, and workshops, participants learned how to ensure every voice was heard and represented. The event aimed to promote a more equitable and representative media landscape.

FOMO 2023: Artificial Intelligence in contemporary journalism and media production

The 2023 FOMO event, held in Warsaw, Poland, from August 5th to 7th, focused on the critical and rapidly evolving intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the media landscape. Recognizing AI's growing influence, the event centered on exploring its adoption in contemporary journalism and media production.
Through a blend of study sessions, lectures, and practical workshops, participants delved into the multifaceted implications of AI, examining its potential opportunities and possibilities alongside the inherent risks and ethical dilemmas associated with its use in content creation. This event aimed to equip attendees with a deeper understanding of AI's impact, fostering informed discussions and responsible practices within the media industry.
