EPIS Thinktank e.V.

EPIS is a student-led think tank dedicated to empowering the next generation of policymakers in foreign affairs, security policy, and global economic governance. By combining academic excellence with practical exposure, EPIS enables students to engage directly with real-world policy challenges. Through its publications, international delegations, and policy competitions, the organization creates platforms for young voices to contribute to high-level debates. With a strong network of partners and access to leading conferences and decision-makers, EPIS bridges the gap between university education and professional policy-making environments.

Projects & Activities

EPIS Magazine & Blog

EPIS provides students with an early platform to publish high-quality geopolitical and security policy analysis. Through its Magazine and Blog, contributors engage with real-world issues and reach an international audience already during their university studies.

Delegations to High-Level Security Conferences

EPIS organizes dozens of student delegations to leading international security and foreign policy conferences each year (over 35 in 2025 alone). Participants gain direct exposure to policymakers, experts, and global debates shaping today’s geopolitical landscape.

Policy Paper Competition on EU Enlargement

EPIS hosts a policy paper competition focused on EU enlargement, giving students the opportunity to present their work to a high-level jury and panel composed of current and former EU decision-makers. This creates a unique bridge between academic work and real policy impact.

Think Tank Structure Bridging Policy & Business

Through its specialized branches – including the Foreign Affairs & Security Policy (FASP) Think Tank and the Business Strategy & Corporate Affairs (BSCA) Think Tank – EPIS enables students to work on both geopolitical and economic dimensions of global challenges
