“Moving ideas forward: guidance to successful youth organisations” TC in Podgorica, Montenegro

Are you young enthusiast working or volunteering for non-governmental organisations? Do you want to learn how to write successful project proposals and raise money for your organisational activities? Do you want to learn how to keep other people motivated and engaged?

Then this call is for you! The European Youth Press, together with European Dialogue are looking for 4 participants (18-30 years old) and 1 participant who can be older than 30 years from Germany to join training course “Moving ideas forward: guidance to successful youth organisations” that will be held on 14 – 21 October 2018 in Podgorica, Montenegro.


About the project

The project coordinated by European Dialogue and Mladiinfo Montenegro is addressing a number of common challenges that youth organisations are facing. During several years of cooperation, Member Organisations of the EYP together with their umbrella organisation were able to identify recurring challenges that the organisations are facing. The most common ones have been chosen as subjects of this project, which focuses on three main and interconnected areas: 1) sustainable NGO management in general, including organisational democracy, leadership and motivation of volunteers, inclusion of minorities and disadvantaged people, anti-discrimination and accessibility; 2) successful fundraising, project management and evaluation, including communication and technologies used for planning and supervision; 3) development of international networks and cooperation.


Participants of the youth exchange will:

– get knowledge of successful and effective NGO development and management, and practical skills in this regard;

– get practical skills in project development, management, and fundraising:

– get practical skills in developing organisational strategies and new project proposals;

– be able to use modern technologies for communication, planning, and supervision;

– be able to spread the knowledge among their colleagues and peers – become multipliers;

– be able to develop international networks and cooperation.

The participants will be gathered into small groups (up to 5 people) and work on concept of organisations’ strategy or a project on topic of their choice.


Financial information

Accommodation, food and all materials to be used are fully covered by Erasmus+ Programme and are taken care of by the European Dialogue and Mladiinfo Montenegro.

Participants will receive reimbursement of their travel costs (flight, train or bus ticket) up to the amount indicated below according to their country of residence:


Germany – 120 EUR


Local transport tickets are not included in these amounts and will be reimbursed 100% or paid directly by organisers. Transport from Podgorica to Sutomore will be organised by coordinators and information about it will be included in the info-pack.

Although travel costs will be reimbursed, participants will be expected to make their own travel arrangements as soon as possible after being selected and communicate with European Youth Press about it. European Youth Press will also assist participants with finding the cheapest and most suitable travel options. If that assistance is not needed, participants will be expected to take the cheapest route from their place of residence to Podgorica and use following means of the transportation:

  • Train: 2nd class ticket (normal as well as high-speed trains),
  • Flight: return economy-class air ticket or a cheaper ticket,
  • Bus,
  • Car.

European Dialogue will also book travel tickets for participants in duly justified cases. In that case, declaration signed by participants stating that in case of non-attendance and impossibility to find a replacement participant they will reimburse whole amount to the European Dialogue will be requested.

If they don’t have it already, all the participants are expected to arrange adequate medical and travel insurance which we strongly recommend. Unfortunately it cannot be reimbursed by organisers.

Participants will receive info-pack with programme and all important and other useful information one month before the training.


Who can apply?

This call is open for:

  • Young volunteers or people working for NGOs (student or recent graduate), legal representatives of NGOs, people interested in organisational and project development and fundraising;
  • Between 18-30 years old, only one participant can be older than 30 years;
  • Residents of (country);
  • Proficient in English.
