External Communications Proactive Team Members Wanted!

Location: Remote with reimbursed travel for media events and trainings across Europe

 

The European Youth Press (EYP) is looking for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join our External Communications Proactive Team. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in promoting the work of EYP and raising awareness of the importance of quality learning within youth media.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy to promote EYP and the #YouthMediaMatters campaign across various channels, including social media, email, and press releases
  • Create engaging social media content and graphics to promote the campaign and engage with stakeholders in the media industry
  • Work with the Orange Magazine committee to promote the campaign and highlight the work of young media makers
  • Develop toolkits and other resources for youth media organisations to use in their own advocacy efforts
  • Manage social media during events and workshops as well as present the findings and recommendations from the campaign 
  • Engage with policy makers and other relevant institutions to advocate for policies and initiatives that support quality learning within youth media
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of the campaign through metrics such as social media engagement, number of participants in events and workshops, and feedback from stakeholders
  • Continuously monitor and adapt the campaign based on feedback and new developments in the youth media sector.

 

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (other languages are a plus)
  • Passion for social media management and content creation
  • Experience in creating and implementing communications strategies is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of youth media and interest in promoting quality learning within this sector
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines is a plus
  • Availability to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week for a period of 6 months.

This is a voluntary role, but it offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in communications, advocacy, and youth media. As a member of the External Communications Proactive Team, you will have the chance to work with a dynamic and international team of young media makers, develop your skills and knowledge, and make a positive impact on the youth media sector in Europe.
