Call for Team Leader(s) of Orange Magazine

Deadline: 9 March 2023, 11:59 am CET

Orange Magazine – the online magazine of European Youth Press – is looking for one or two team leader(s), responsible for the coordination and overall running of the platform.

Orange Magazine sustains journalistic partnerships with various media organizations, including Deutsche Welle, DW Akademie, the Asia-Europe Foundation, Open Government Partnership and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. The Orange Magazine journalists’ activities include attending international conferences and other events, covering them by producing high-quality, fact-based journalistic content.

As one of the team leaders, you would be responsible for setting up these project cooperations, recruiting teams to attend the events and running the communication and meetings with the core team members. The core team usually consists of around 15-20 young European journalists. You would also be responsible to work together with EYP project teams in order to find ways to work on projects together (this might also include developing ideas for grant applications together with the EYP Executive Board).

What you bring:

  • Motivation to support young journalists
  • Joy in international reporting and event coverage
  • Ability to coordinate projects and keep track of tasks
What you get:
  • Opportunity to gain experience in project management and coordination of an editorial team
  • Networking with young journalists and organizations across Europe
  • Opportunity to travel and gain journalistic experience abroad
  • Volunteer position with all Orange Magazine-related expenses being covered

Currently, Orange Magazine is trying to come back after Covid, therefore the team leader has to reactivate and recruit Orange Magazine core team members, i.e. young journalists from all over Europe and beyond.

If you are interested or would like to have further information on the role of the team leader, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Rieke Smit (r.smit@youthpress.org) and Julia Fedlmeier (j.fedlmeier@youthpress.org) from the EYP Executive Board.

Please submit your application by 9 March 2023, 11:59 am CET via applications@youthpress.org.

Attach your CV and include a few sentences (not more than 500 words) about yourself and your motivation to be the Orange Magazine team leader. Don’t forget to share your journalistic experience in the email. Please note that this position is a volunteer position.
