Reporting on Energy

Deadline: 21 April, 2021, 23:59 CET

The European Youth Press – network of young media makers is excited to announce that we will be collaborating with the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project the Energy-SHIFTS team and organise an online workshop about reporting on energy for journalists, bloggers and young media makers. The workshop will start at 10:00 AM CET, on 29 April, 2021. The duration is 2.5 hours. Young media makers, also students of journalism, media studies, communications or people without professional experience who would like to work in the field of media and communications from the Member States and Neighbouring (associated) countries of the EU are welcomed to become a participant.

This workshop will provide an introduction to the Energy-SHIFTS project, key areas related to energy. The participants will learn about social aspects of energy transition and how to report them through different media channels including traditional (printed press) and social media. The workshop also will address the EU energy policy as well as foundations for longer-term mechanisms that will enable evidence-based energy-SSH insights to reach the policy front line.

Within one week after the workshop, each group will prepare the press release, podcast or social media content (for example, set of tweets) and submit it to the European Youth Press. The best materials will be published on the Energy-SHIFTS and EYP websites.
