Call for participants for the Media Academy 2022

Deadline: ongoing registration

Climate change, Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, price increases, the energy crisis, and the coronavirus pandemic is on! The media, which is supposed to provide an overview and perspective, is faced with a problem: how do they manage to present the situation in the world as comprehensively as possible without neglecting essential topics and aspects?

Quality journalism is challenged not only by the large number of parallel crises, but also by the speed with which news is published, especially on the Internet, but also on TV and radio. What does time pressure in research and verification, lack of staff, hate and hate speech, and the omnipresence of crises do to the mental health of journalists?

This is exactly what we will want to talk to you about during the #MedienAkademie22 from Thursday to Friday, on 3-4 November, 2022.

Young media makers and journalism students with advanced German language skills are welcomed to apply for participation in this activity.

Theme: Long-term crisis program: How can journalists still depict the state of the world?
