European Youth Press

The Audiovisual Service of the European Commission has the largest collection of audiovisual archive material on the construction of the European Union dating back to 1945.

The number of digitised items accessible on its website amounts to 1,300 videos, 30,000 photos and 11,000 historical audio files.

The European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen will invite youth from all the EU Member States, to participate in a competition about EU development, integration and European identity issues.

Submission deadline extended until 14 February 2010!

This year for the third time the European Parliament Prize for Journalism will be awarded to journalists who have covered major European issues or promoted a better understanding of the EU institutions and/or EU policies.

The prize will be awarded in four different categories: written press, radio, TV and internet. The winner in each category will receive €5,000.

Entries will be accepted from 15 January until 31 March 2010 inclusive. The prize will be awarded in October 2010.

Apply by the 10th of February 2010 and you will have the chance to participate in one of the 2 days meetings that take place simultaneously in Brussels, Bucharest, Prague and Warsaw, meet people your age and share your experiences of the past and your visions of a European future!

The most active participants will have the opportunity to draft the "Declaration 89" and present it to EU officials in Brussels and Europe's leaders will benefit from hearing your voice.

We, the European Youth Press and the youthmedia.eu team together with the Council of Europe are proud to announce the results of the Europe is MORE than you think Award. At the closing date in December 2009, the competition had received over 200 entries in 4 categories: photography, video journalism, print and radio journalism.

The EIT is now organising a call for expressions of interest with a view to establishing a reserve list for Temporary Agents (5 years renewable contract) for the position of Communication Officer.

THE journalistic competition for young journalists from ALL over Europe

One journalistic competition for all of Europe: Young journalists, photographers and videographers are invited to compete for eight prizes in the 'Europe is More Than You Think' Award 2009, launched on 7th September. The award is organised jointly by the Council of Europe and the European Youth Press, the largest network of young media-creators. We are you: Where, how, when is Europe MORE than you think?
