12 young people from Austria, Germany and Switzerland met on 29th October in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in order to plan their first trinational youth media camp on Lake Constance in 2005 called Bodensee Camp.
The schedule set for the two day meeting in Friedrichshafen was a real challenge. Bringing together young people from three different German speaking countries and from four different youth media organisations, forming the group to a working team and roughly planning the four day youth media camp for Pentecost 2005.
Expectations differed a lot at the beginning but on the last day and under increasing pressure milestones were set and the represantatives of all three countries agreed on taking over responsibilities for finances, logistics, workshops, animation, human ressources and more.
The only downturn at the moment was that the group could not find a suitable camp ground until the end of the first meeting. Since this was considered one of the most important issues the team has agreed to make a special effort in the following three weeks.
Regardless of where exactly along the shores of Lake Constance the camp will take place, the fact that young people from Austria, Germany and Switzerland organise an educational camp for teenagers interested in media is unique. Furthermore, it is one of the first international youth media projects whose roots go back to the European Youth Press.
