Warsaw Film Foundation and FIPRESCI invite young film critics to Warsaw

Warsaw Film Foundation and the International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI are inviting young journalists and film critics from Central and Eastern Europe to participate in the Warsaw International Film Festival, one of the most important cinema events in Eastern Europe.

Those who participate in the “FIPRESCI Warsaw Project - The Talent Press 2010” will both report on the films at the 26th Warsaw Film Festival (October 8-17, 2010) and on the events of the 6th CentEast Market Warsaw (October 15-17, 2010).

The program is designed for young (under 30) film critics or journalists, who meet the following criteria:

  • must be fluent in English (writing and speaking)
  • are eager to report on films within the framework of the Warsaw Film Festival and on events held during the CentEast Market
  • have published articles in newspapers, film magazines or on specialized Web sites.

The participants are expected:

  • to work equally in all fields of journalism—you will write interviews, reviews, reports, articles and features on the Warsaw Film Festival and the CentEast Market
  • to attend editorial meetings with their mentors.

The participants will be offered:

  • a share of the travel expenses according to their country of origin
  • free accommodation in youth hostels in Warsaw from October 8 to 17, 2010
  • the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and to be with many young talented filmmakers from all over the world and to experience the day-to-day buzz of a prestigious A-Festival.

Participants will be guided through the Warsaw Film Festival by their experienced colleagues who work for the world’s leading trade publications. Applications, including a CV and three samples of your publications, should be sent to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
