Young (prospective) journalists, as well as students from related programs of study, between 19 and 26 years of age, may apply for the in each case 10 places for german and polish participants. During the whole program we will offer simultaneous and consecutive translation, although in order to lighten the communication between the participants, a good command of English would be beneficial.
Since 2005 the House for Polish-German Co-operation entertains to the German-Polish Journalism Academy to Upper Silesia. By organizing panel discussions and writing-workshops, together with well-known journalists, as well as visits at editorial departments and practical workshops, we are offering young journalist an exciting insight into the world of the media. In six days the participants will deepen their journalistic knowledge and get an overview about the craft of journalism from the European to the regional level. Furthermore the participants will receive the opportunity to meet international and upper-silesian colleagues.
For the participation it is only required to send us a résumé of yours and an example of previous journalistic work, or rather a text about the topic “Journalism in the globalized 21th century. Europe – Poland and Germany – Upper Silisia” (8000 figures max).
The participation is free of charge (Accomodation in twin rooms, provision). Travel costs must be paid individually.
