European Youth Press will choose a new board during its General Assembly taking place in Varna, Bulgaria, 3rd-9th of July 2010. Young media makers aged between 18 and 28 years old interested in running for the board are kindly invited to write an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it announcing their decision to run and their availability to attend the whole event by Wednesday, the 28th of April (this is due to logistical reasons).
Full applications consisting of a CV and a motivation letter should be sent no later than Friday, the 7th of May. The board candidates will then be invited to attend the General Assembly and the event focused on youth unemployment organized around the GA by Youth Media Network Association from Bulgaria. It is highly recommended that the board candidates take part in the whole event, from the 3rd to the 9th of July.
The General Assembly of the European Youth Press will choose a new board composed of 6 board members and a treasurer. The new board will hold a 2-years mandate. The board is the executive body of EYP and is responsible for the everyday work of the organisation. Each board member has to take over at least one key-responsibility and to realize his/her tasks together with the colleagues from European board, the office and the member organizations. The treasurer is responsible for supervising the budget plan of the EYP, for controlling the way the employed personnel spends the budget, for reporting to the board and to the member organisations on financial issues. The final decisions on financial issues are nonetheless taken by the whole board after being informed by the treasurer.
The ideal candidate for board member of the European Youth Press should:
- Have been involved in events, projects and activities of the European Youth Press and/ or one of its member organisations;
- Have journalistic knowledge or experience or aim to be a journalist;
- Have good organizational skills;
- Have possibility to dedicate his/her volunteer time to the European Youth Press for 2 years;
- Have knowledge on the creation and management of European projects and events;
- Have basic knowledge on funding of international youth organisations.
- Speak English at proficient level.
The ideal candidate for treasurer of the European Youth Press should:
- Have good or very good knowledge of finance issues, budget planning and basic knowledge of accounting;
- Have very good knowledge on funding of international youth organisations;
- Have been involved in events, projects and activities of the European Youth Press and/ or one of its member organisations;
- Speak English at proficient level;
- Have good organizational skills;
- Have possibility to dedicate his/her volunteer time to the European Youth Press for 2 years
