ORGANISING AND COORDINATION TEAM
The European Youth Media Days 2009 are a real youth congress, organised by the European Parliament and an experienced international team from the European Youth Press, this year happening for the third time already.
This time in mid October, again in building of European Parliament.
As an umbrella association of young journalist organisations in Europe, the European Youth Press (EYP) is part of a large network of the emerging European youth. In cooperation with its member organisations and with partners such as the Forum for European Journalism Students (FEJS), the European Movement, the Young European Federalists and other organisations, the European Youth Media Days are an integrated congress, addressing a vast share of young European civil society.
ORGANISING TEAM
A group of about 40 young journalists from across the European Union, all of them experienced in congress organisation and media work, form the organisational team of the event.
The organisational team is responsible for developing the overall aims and concepts of the event, for designing and implementing the programme, for the communications work in all 27 EU countries in a close cooperation with the national information offices of the European Parliament, for coordinating the event on site and for ensuring its evaluation, documentation and sustainability.
COORDINATION TEAM
A coordination team in Brussels, consisting of four to six young journalists who have professional international work experience in event management and communications and combine a young point of view, creativity and professionalism, heads the organising team. Major responsibilities and tasks of the coordination team are:

Overall coordination of the team, information flow, motivation, support, continuous involvement
of all team members across the EU, organising and planning meetings
COMMUNICATION
Conception, establishment of country coordinators network, PR / web / networking / developments / media partnerships / press, application period
PROGRAMME
Conception, speakers requests, involvement of Members of the European Parliament and other VIPs, implementation of the programme, planning of media productions and other outcomes
ORGANISATION
Participants care, accommodation, travels, venues, administration and accounting, databases
CROSS-SECTIONAL TASKS
Conception, lobbying in EU institutions, information flow, team motivation, budget planning, administration, documentation / evaluation / follow-up
The major time period for the coordination team in Brussels is June to October 2009.

The European Youth Press searches for 2 full-time project managers and 1 full-time programme coordinators stationed in Brussels during the above mentioned time period.
We are looking for:
PROJECT MANAGER I
requires excellent skills in project management and event planning. This person would take over responsibility of external relations and the overall coordination of the programme implementation. Therefore it is expected of you to be communicative, creative, professional and team oriented. The position also demands high flexibility and workloads under pressure. The candidates should be experienced with working in English. Additional language skills are appreciated.
PROJECT MANAGER II
requires excellent skills in team management and communication strategy planning and implementation. This person would take over external and internal communication and public relations. It is expected of this person to be creative, innovative and open-minded. You are expected to motivate and lead a team with a continuous information flow. The position also demands high flexibility and workloads under pressure. The candidates should be experienced with working in English. Additional language skills are appreciated.
PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
requires excellent skills in programme conception and implementation. Should have researching and organisational skills. It is expected of you to be very communicative and creative. Applicants should have a journalistic background and be team oriented. The candidates should be experienced with working in English. Additional language skills are appreciated.

PROFESSIONAL TEAM TRAINING AND GUIDANCE
Through the whole organisational period a professional team of trainers from the trainer pool of the Council of Europe guides and trains the organisation team in issues of intercultural communication, project management and public relations on a European level.
