The Youth Press PORTUGAL (YPP) is an organisation of young journalists and media makers. It was created in the end of 2007 and it aims to contribute to the adequate integration and professional assertion of young Portuguese journalists and media creators. It is employed to protect its members' rights and interests, in close collaboration with private and public partners.
YPP intends to unite youths interested in journalism and communication, and develop a variety of projects at a national and international level, to promote education, information and the exchange of values, good practices and knowledge.
The organisation encourages the participation, joint or individual, of their members in the development and strengthening of the role of young members of the press and the freedom of the press in Europe. - To collaborate with young minority groups, such as young emigrants, young victims of social discrimination and associations of physically-disabled youths, as a way to promote effective communication, diversity, social inclusion and a multicultural dialogue
- To develop more specific journalistic and media practices, such as: workshops and non-formal types of education, in collaboration with local/national/international entities
