The World Youth Wave association was founded on October 24, 2005, as a non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organization in Belgrade. Organization operates on a voluntary basis.
The main goal of our organization is overcoming prejudice by promoting intercultural dialog and tolerance through informal education.
WAVE magazine is an international youth web magazine, a project run and led by the WYW. It is a monthly magazine, publishing one issue every 10th in a month. The informal motto is – „Young people write for young readers“ and the basic idea is to offer young people a chance to experience and learn journalism from their older colleagues and professionals, but also to offer quality investigative journalistic content from a different point of view. Youth are the main target group but the plans are also to attract different kind of readers. You can read magazine in English and Serbian language, for now.
WAVE magazine has a very good cooperation with similar organizations and youth media and was a media partner of European Young Journalist Award – EYJA 2008 and EYJA 2009 in Serbia.
WAVE has also wide network of contributors from all around the world. Call for contributors (journalists, photographers, translators) is constantly open.
