ONAUBIH (Youth Press Association) is a youth NGO dedicated to journalism.

It was formed in December 2007 by a group of young people aspiring to become more accessible to youth wanting to participate in youth media. Today, ONAUBIH is known as a multiethnic organization, trained to provide the youth with the opportunity to become familiar with the media, to learn more about journalism and participate in creating their own media space.

Our main donor is the SHL – Schueler Helfen Leben, a Foundation from Berlin, Germany.

The Association consists of the following bodies: the Management Board (ONAUBIH Board), The President and Vice-President and the General Assembly.

Our utmost goal is to activate the youth in our country by giving them a chance to learn something new, either in the field of journalism itself (by participating in our educational seminars and trainings), or through research related to their own journalistic practice (writing for the Karike Magazine). These activities are supposed to give them a space where they can express their own opinions, or share their experiences with their peers.

From 2008 on we have organized several projects that gathered a large number of participants. Our magazine, Karike, is the project that has been around the longest, involving our members from the entire country. Also present throughout the years is the General Assembly, which serves as an annual summary of our work, but also as a place to have a good time. Other projects (Peer to Peer, Radio-journalism, Photo-journalism ONAuBiH Kamp 2010) paid attention to theoretical knowledge of journalism in general, as well as its individual aspects – photo-journalism, radio-journalism, TV-journalism and the new media. Our aim was to offer a quality, professional staff as teachers, and we have succeeded in doing so.

This year we organized events all over the country to promote the World Press Freedom Day, and we hope that celebrating this day will become our tradition.
