Youth Press Italia was born in 2007 as an informal and independent association of young people interested in media. The idea comes out from a group of Italian participants to the European Youth Media Days 2007 in the European Parliament in Brussels.
Registered as organization in June 2008, its major aims are:
- to represent young media makers and journalists at National and European level
- to foster participation of young people in Italian's media landscape
- to promote education and training of young people on media awareness and production.
Members are coming from all over the country, different media backgrounds and experiences.
Youth Press Italia joined European Youth Press in June 2008 as observer member. It wants to encourage the creation of a permanent network of young people interested in media in Italy, giving them opportunities of training and experiences at local, regional, national and European level.
