Call for project organisers team

The European Youth Press (EYP), a network of young media makers, is looking for enthusiastic people who have experience in large scale event (summer school) organising. The organisers’ team should have the following positions: project coordinator, participants and finance coordinator, external communications coordinator and designer.

 

The best candidate for PROJECT COORDINATOR should fit the following requirements:

  • proven experience in leading the organisation of international projects where NGOs and institutions are main collaborators (events with more than 50 participants);
  • good management and leadership skills,
  • being able to lead an international team working under tight deadlines,
  • good public speaking skills and experience in communication with the audience in plenary;
  • specialisation in media;
  • guide facilitators of teams who are going to create content
  • experience in working with the EU institutions, be aware of basic financial procedures, internal and external communication regulations of the EU institutions;
  • experience in working with youth events as an organiser (previous experience with the European Youth Press in event organising is an asset);
  • being available every day and able to quickly react to a changing situation (for example, make changes in the team’s instructions, prepare documents, etc.);
  • being ready for daily reporting to the Executive Board of EYP.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • supervision of the international team of organisers: participants coordinator, external communications coordinator and designer;
  • selection of the facilitators and participants of the event together with other organisers;
  • supervision and guidance of the facilitators;
  • instructing facilitators on how to organise their group’s work;
  • inspiring others to connect within the teams and create valuable content;
  • selection of the best content (text, video, photo, radio, etc.);
  • communication with the EU institutions.

The best candidate for PARTICIPANTS AND FINANCE COORDINATOR should fit the following requirements:

  • a proven record of experience in administrative support, project/event management, especially with the financial side of it;
  • working experience with reimbursements and contracts for the organisations or companies;
  • being a multitasker with strong attention to details and the ability to deliver results on time under tight deadlines;
  • being able to timely handle big amounts of correspondence with participants,
  • being concrete and detailed in communication, and work effectively;
  • being able to guide and support participants on the spot;
  • being ready for daily reporting to the Project Coordinator.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • supervision of the selection of facilitators (10 people) and participants (80 people);
  • communication with participants on the subjects of accommodation, travel, access to the building;
  • all communication with participants on the subjects of finance (explaining and specifying the rules),
  • contracts with the organisers for the EYP and checking that all contracts are done properly, support service to the European institutions, close collaboration with the treasurer of EYP, etc.

The best candidate for EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR should fit the following requirements:

  • at least three years of experience in communications and/or PR;
  • being tech-savvy and able to work independently;
  • able to write powerful, short texts, which cuts into the heart of the issue as well as official press releases;
  • proficient in social media management;
  • experience working with multimedia formats;
  • being able to establish connections with the European media for promotion of the event;
  • ready for daily reporting to the Project Coordinator.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • the distribution of the open call announcement, newsletter, press release, communication with media outlets for the promotion of the event;
  • communication with media partners;
  • finalising the outcomes of the event and assisting publishing on the official platform.

The best candidate for DESIGNER should fit the following requirements:

  • at least two years of experience in online and print design;
  • experience in working for the European youth events;
  • the creation of the visual elements of the promotion;
  • ready for daily reporting to the Project Coordinator.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • providing design services;
  • layout support: online banners (Facebook, Twitter promotion collages and/or photos), including photo credits, adaptations.

  • A CV (max two pages).
  • A cover letter (no longer than one A4 page).
  • Portfolio and links to work samples (only for DESIGNER).

Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.

European Youth Press is an NGO, hence, we still believe in fairly remunerating our contractors. The remuneration of the chosen candidates will be discussed between both parties.
