The European Youth Press’ Orange Magazine is looking for a young video journalist (aged between 18 and 30) from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland and Czech Republic to cover the 2017 Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum to be held in Bonn, Germany from 19th to 21st June this year.
Under its mandate, the Orange Magazine provides an avenue for young journalists and young change makers to collaborate and work together by producing youth-inspired pieces for print and online editions during the coverage of international media events. The annual Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum provides an excellent avenue for young journalists to sharpen their skills while learning from peers and experts in the field.
Successful applicant will undergo editorial training before and during the event to produce multimedia pieces related to this year’s forum topic: Identity and Diversity. The stories produced at the event will be submitted with Orange Magazine and the participant’s home media.

We are looking for:
1 VIDEO JOURNALIST
Responsibilities: The video team will create a series of 3-5 two-minute videos, which will include among others: forum highlights, interviews with speakers, and longer themed features.
Eligibility: Experience in video production, shooting, editing and camera shooting. You will have to provide your own camera equipment, including portable tripod.
Application: Please send a CV, three video work samples (those related to the forum topic is a plus), and your story pitch (approximately 300 words) for a feature story related to the forum that you would like to make during or before the event in a media format relevant to your application. In your story pitch try to answer the following questions:
- What is your story topic or idea?
- How is it related to the conference topic?
- How are you going to research the topic and what information will be valuable to Orange Magazine’s youth audience?
- Who will you interview for the story?
