Deadline: 31 October, 2019
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is accepting entries for its 2019 global media competition. Professional journalists and students are invited to submit articles or videos/multimedia to this contest.
The contest aims to promote quality reporting on labor migration issues, ensuring greater public awareness about the contributions migrant workers bring to communities and contributing to the elimination of public misperception, xenophobia and discrimination against migrant workers.
Written press, photo essay, multimedia, video and/or radio are eligible but must have been published or aired between November 1, 2018 and October 31, 2019. Entries in other languages than English, French and Spanish must include a translation.
The competition has a student category and four professional categories, including two prizes on the theme “fair recruitment of migrant workers” and two for “the future of labor migration.”
The winners will be able to choose between US$1,000 in the professional category and US$300 for the student category or a paid fellowship to participate in an ITC-Turin course on a fair recruitment or labor migration topic in 2020.
The deadline is October 31.
